In honor of American Craft Beer Week, Ariccia Trattoria & Bar will host a craft beer dinner with beer pairings from Brewery Ommegang on Friday, May 16 at 6 p.m. The dinner will feature four courses paired with beers from the Belgian-style brewer, including Ommegang’s latest seasonal release, Glimmerglass. Ommegang’s Lee Dickson will offer insight into beer pairings and Ariccia Chef Caleb Fischer will be in attendance to speak with guests about the culinary creations.
“The menu for the craft beer dinner has been crafted to highlight the nuances of Ommegang’s selected beers,” said Chef Fischer. “Each draft is guaranteed to enhance the flavor of each of the four courses.”
The dinner will begin with the Ommegang Hennepin Farmhouse Saison paired with Soft-Shell Crab, Wasabi Mustard Emulsion and Boston Bibb lettuce. For the second course, diners will enjoy Abbey Ale Dubbel Ale paired with Anise Smoked Quail, Forest Mushrooms and Citrus-Coriander Nage. The entrée course will feature the Three Philosopher Quadrupel Ale paired with Venison Loin, Mt. Alice Triple Cream Risotto and Sour Cherry Mole. Last. The dessert course will feature Glimmerglass Spring Saison paired with a Bartlett Pears, Citrus Bread Pudding and Pink Peppercorn Ice Cream.
Before the presentation of each course, Dickson and Chef Fischer will discuss the intricacies of the pairings and the subtleties of the beer and food combination.
