Bananas in my panties?
Heather-Ann Schaeffner The Corner News published October 26, 2008 A 56-year old woman from the Czech Republic was arrested by Australian customs officials when she returned from a trip to Samoa. She was frisked by a female officer who found three exotic banana plants hidden in the woman’s underpants. The plants are forbidden because they may carry diseases that would threaten Australia’s native banana population. Fines for breaking quarantine laws can be as hefty as $66,000 and carry an additional 10 year jail sentence. |
