Since forming in 2007, The Last Straw has been making a name for itself with its live show. The rock band has a bluesy edge and has been compared to bands like The Allman Brothers and The Black Crowes. They recently released their debut album, “Brought To Life,” and it doesn’t disappoint.

The band lives just outside Nashville and has performed at festivals that included the Fool’s Ball Festival and Birmingham’s Do Dah Day festival and is scheduled to open for the Drive-By Truckers and the Marshall Tucker Band this summer.

The band recorded their debut album at Germantown Studios in Nashville and it ranges from hard guitar driven rock tunes to softer southern rock tunes.
From the beginning guitar intro on songs like “Rock N’ Roll Queen,” you will feel like you are listening to The Black Crowes with a more rough around the edges lead singer. Then the band switches gears a bit on songs like “Down the Line,” a more country inspired tune about the Hurricane Katrina tragedy.

The band has an energy that is contagious and will be worth a trip to hear live. Both of the band’s guitarists took home “Best Guitarists” awards and organ/pianist Adam Botner earned the “Best Auxilary Instrumentalist” in the Nashville Buzz Rock Awards.
