With five solo records under his belt, Dana Robinson has been at this music gig for a while now. But after years of moving around the country, writing about his travels and the journey, the folk artist found his real niche working with his wife.

The two musical souls met through their music in the early 2000’s, when Dana was playing a house show in California. Susan began studying folk music and the two released their debut album, “Native Soul,” in 2004. Now, as a duo the two are commonly likened to ‘keepers of the flame’ for classic American folk music, with artists like Woody Guthrie in mind, as they tour the country with their banjos and guitars.

The duo’s most recent album, 2009’s “Big Mystery,” was released on Threshold Records and recorded in the couple’s adopted hometown of Asheville, NC. The album is a collection of guitar and banjo-laden tunes that explore the mysteries and wonders of nature and life, infusing traditional folk ideas with international rhythms and tunes.

Now nearing its second decade in the beautiful old Unitarian Church on East Thatch, The Sundilla Acoustic Concert Series has been bringing in great, under-the-radar acts to Auburn almost every month since it began. Stop by sundilla.org for more information and to check the upcoming roster.
