Rapper Twista will perform at the Backyard BBQ Music Festival Saturday.
Keith Holley, owner of DJ Holleywood’s Chameleon, and Matt Earnest, owner of Pockets, have decided to bring the first Backyard BBQ Music Festival to the Tiger Crossing Shopping Center on Saturday, April 2.
“Basically, I’ve always thought it would be a cool idea to have a festival with all different types of music and put them all in the same place,” Holley said.
There will be three stages, one inside each venue and one outside, showcasing performers from noon to midnight. The bands include: Zoogma, Hunter Lawley Band, Satin Soul Band, Noise Organization, Rollin’ in the Hay, Erica and Soulshine, The Good Doctor, The Odettas, Souled Out, Underground Railroad, Burnsyde, Chase Anderson, K-Major and also special hip-hop performances by Twista and Kilo Ali.
The line-up also includes guest DJs, such as host, DJ Holleywood, along with DJ Hardwork, DJ UNK, Raheem the Dream, Rainer, and Andy B & WDPK.
“It’s a collaboration,” Holley said. “A big musical showcase and what better way to do that than with barbecue?”
Barbecue that ranges from ribs, sandwiches and smoked sausage to wings and turkey legs will be served.
All regular alcoholic beverages will be available.
The festival cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets are available online at inticketing.com or at Chameleon, Pockets, The Corner News, The Guitar Shoppe and Chevron Store 17. Each ticket is a daylong pass to the event, but does not include food or drinks. Gates open at noon.
