As a Korean-American with a Southern accent, Henry Cho said that he has always stuck out. It’s where his earliest comedy material came from and it still pays dividends today.

Born in Knoxville, Tenn., Cho, who attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, began performing standup comedy in 1986. With his versatile brand of “clean” comedy, Cho has become a highly sought after comedian.

Cho has had numerous TV and film credits to date, appearing as a guest on a handful of network sitcoms and shows, including “The Arsenio Hall
Show” and NBC’s “The Tonight Show.” He also served two years as the host of NBC’s “Friday Night Videos.”

Early in his career he was featured as a supporting character in “Revenge of the Nerds III” and has since been in films such as “McHale’s Navy” with Tom Arnold and David Allen Grier, and the Farrelly Brothers’ “Say it Isn’t So,” with Heather Graham. His stand-up comedic material is featured several times a week on Sirius/XM satellite radio stations LaughUSA and Blue Collar Radio alongside Bill Engvall and Jeff Foxworthy.
Comedy Central also filmed a one-hour stand-up special, “What’s That Clickin’ Noise,” with Cho, with Cho, who wisecracks about his dumb friends.

Most recently, Cho, who has appeared on CBS’s “The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” has a situational television show in the works, to be
written and produced with Ferguson. The show allegedly deals with the topic of growing up as an Asian-American in the South.

Henry Cho will bring “The Funny But Clean Comedy Tour” to Opelika this weekend. Cho will be performing at The Event Center Downtown in Opelika on May 20. Tickets for the event are $40. Cho also has numerous dates planned in the surrounding areas in the upcoming weeks, including the Stardome Theatre comedy club in Birmingham.
