This Friday night, Byrd will be the word in Auburn.

Dyrty Byrds, to be more specific; the self-described “Rocky Mountain Rock and Roll” band will be performing at Moe’s Original Bar B Que this Friday, Sept. 16.

The Dyrty Byrds hatched in 2009 when member Sam Holt, leader of the band Outformation relocated to Denver from Atlanta. They started off as a pick up bar band, but soon attracted attention throughout the Denver area.

Besides Holt, the band is made up of Eric Martinez, Tori Pater, Mike “Spanky” McCluer and Lionel “Bud” Lucchesi.

The band's songs are what you’d expect from a traditional Southern rock band, with generally upbeat tempos and toe-tapping, catchy melodies.

Holt, Martinez, Pater and “Spanky” all take turns on the vocals, ensuring that each song you hear won’t sound the same as the one before.

The up-tempo opening of “Me, Myself and Id” sounds vaguely reminiscent of Johnny Cash and quickly gives way to Pater’s gravelly baritone.

“No Surrender” has a more contemporary sound, with clear guitar progression and harmonization, while “Black Stone” sounds like it came straight from a honky tonk.

This Friday, get ready for a dose of Southern goodness from this group of good ol' boys.
