Local musician Dave Potts wll record a live CD at the Sundilla Acoustic Concert Series on Friday, July 29.
Like many of us, Dave Potts fell victim to the beauty of Auburn. Potts, who grew up in the Rockies, traveled the nation in his formative years, playing coffee shops and living out of his truck. But after arriving in town in 1996, he laid down roots and has been using Auburn as his home base ever since.
Today, Dave Potts, a road-worn traveler, seems happy to stay at home.
Potts, whose tunes are as much country as they are folk, has a knack for capturing the small details, the day-to-day tasks and the unnoticed events that happen all around us in the South.
His songs are simple and straightforward, but have a maturity about them that creates a quiet, yet magnifying complexity.
Known for his entertaining shows, stories and dry humor, Potts has five albums under his belt to date, with a live release of his upcoming show at Sundilla set to be his next release.
The always popular Sundilla Acoustic Concert Series hosts a monthly concert featuring largely unknown, underappreciated or undiscovered artists.
Dave Potts will be performing and recording a new live CD at the Sundilla Acoustic Concert Series on Friday, July 29, at the lovely Auburn Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
The show starts at 7:30 and tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for students and kids 12 and under are free. You can also pick up advance tickets at the Gnu’s Room for just $8.
