Auburn’s Terrell Zachery runs against Southern Miss Saturday. Look for the Tigers to dominate again this week.

Last Saturday, Auburn finally showed signs of life in the passing game. QB Chris Todd played a decent game, earning the starting job over Kodi Burns, for the Tiger’s offense. Burns was slowed by a cut on his shin against La-Monroe, limiting his play Saturday, and ultimately costing him the starting job. Still expect Burns to get a decent amount of snaps each week, because of his running ability.

The Auburn defense held strong against an explosive Southern Miss offense. DT Sen`Derrick Marks played well, as usual, helping the defense hold the Golden Eagles to 37 yards on the ground. SEC play opens this weekend for the Tigers, and they will need another strong performance to bring home a victory from Starkville.

Sept. 13
Western Kentucky at Alabama - The WKU Hilltoppers march into Tuscaloosa on a mission, and come out of Jordan-Hare West with a monumental victory.
Prediction: Western Kentucky, 7, Bama 0

Arkansas at Texas - The Piglets have been squeaking by the past two weeks against some terrible teams. Meanwhile, The Longhorns have been destroying teams.  This will be a long day for Petrino. Texas takes the Hogs to the woodshed.
Prediction: Texas 35, Arkansas 10

Georgia at South Carolina -  No upsets here! USC may keep it close for three quarters, but Georgia is just too talented for the Cocks.
Prediction: Georgia 31, South Carolina 20

Middle Tennessee at Kentucky - MTSU had a great close win over Maryland Saturday. Now, they have to deal with an even better team in the Kentucky Wildcats.  Don’t expect to see another upset.
Prediction: Kentucky 34, Middle Tennessee 17

North Texas at LSU - Another glorified practice for the Bengal Tigers. This should be a nice warm-up for next week’s showdown against Auburn.
Prediction: LSU 42, North Texas 9

Samford at Ole Miss - Houston Nutt has his Rebels playing some pretty good football. The Rebels get a good rest after that heart-breaking loss to Wake Forest. Ole Miss wins big.
Prediction: Ole Miss 34, Samford 10

UAB at Tennessee -The Vols rebound from the loss at UCLA with a rout over the sorry Blazers.
Prediction: Tennessee 42, UAB 7

Rice at Vanderbilt - I don’t think I can remember the last time Vandy had the chance to be 3-0. After the huge win over South Carolina, the ‘Dores look to stay hot! Come on baby, light my fire!
Prediction: Vandy 28, Rice 7

Auburn at Mississippi State - The Tigers get their first real test of the season on the road at Miss St. Auburn looks to avenge its loss to the Bulldogs last season. Todd will be sharp, Lester and Tate will run well, and the defense will play lights out. Auburn all day!
Prediction: Auburn 31, Mississippi State 14
