Mother Rose recently opened a home cooking/bakery restaurant on Opelika Road.
Mother Rose’s Homecooking and Bakery is a new eatery in the Auburn community that offers customers home cooked meals, cakes, pies and many other baked desserts. “Great home cooked meals in a great atmosphere,” is what customers can expect when they come to Mother Rose’s said co-owner Sonja Stribling.
“Mother Rose is my mother-in-law and she always wanted to open [a restaurant] and always wanted to cook [for others],” said Stribling.
The menu includes a variety of dishes from turnips to fried chicken and Mother Rose, as well as other family members, cook for the customers in order to give them the experience of a home cooked meal.
Along with the home cooked meals, Mother Rose’s was honored with the East Alabama’s “Best Desserts” award by the Taste of Alabama council. Desserts include freshly baked cakes, cobblers and pies. Mother Rose’s also offers students a meal discount on College Night every Thursday.
Mother Rose’s Homecooking and Bakery is located at 1750-B Opelika Rd. next to Badcock Furniture. Mother Rose’s is open Tuesday through Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
