Auburn Bridal & Tux owner Sara Buck has been in the bridal business for 14 years and was the previous owner of Bridal and Tux in Montgomery, which she sold in 2000. Buck had been retired since then and wasn’t really looking to get back into the business until she was encouraged by some of her former customers who had moved to Auburn. She decided to open a store in Auburn after they informed her of the need for a new bridal store. Buck will open Auburn Bridal & Tux this week at 2328 S. College St. in the Village at Parkerson Mill. The store specializes in wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses and other formal wear.

The store is filled with all types of wedding gowns from the more classic styles to more contemporary with beading and crystal detailing. Auburn Bridal & Tux will carry many popular lines that are exclusive to the store.

Auburn Bridal & Tux will not only carry wedding gowns, but will also offer dresses for the mother of the bride, bridesmaids and flower girls. In addition, they will carry party dresses, prom and pageant attire, tuxedos, gift items, jewelry, Christian items and sorority merchandise. Buck says she also will carry more casual game day dresses in orange and blue.

Tuxedo rental will be available at the store, and Buck plans to donate $5 of every tuxedo rented by a fraternity member to that fraternity’s philanthropy.

Buck said that she hopes her store will provide an enjoyable shopping experience for brides, no matter what their price range is. Wedding dresses will start at $250, and semi-formal dresses will start at $49.

“Every girl that comes in the door, I don’t care if she’s spending $200 or $2,000, she will be treated exactly the same,” said Buck. “Everybody needs to feel special on that day no matter what walk of life they have.”

Buck says her number one goal when opening her store is to have exceptional customer service.

“In the 14 years I had my other store, I never ordered a wrong dress, a wrong bridesmaid dress or a wrong color,” says Buck. “I hope to achieve that at my new store as well.”

Auburn Bridal & Tux will be open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
