Lisa, Mary Ann and Cindy Kaylor love live music. The Auburn girls love music so much that they have formed their own group that attends concerts every weekend called the Kaylor Girls. The girls have only been an official group for about a year, but have more than 85,000 friends on MySpace and have requests from around the United States for their appearances at shows. The Kaylor Girls now have six members.

“The Kaylor Girls started out as my two sisters and I enjoying concerts,” said Mary Ann Kaylor. “Soon our other friends got involved and now we go to shows every weekend.”

Bands that include Last Episode, Down Home Destination, Eric Lee Beddingfield, Clay Cumbie, Downstroke and more have requested the Kaylor Girls attend their shows to get the crowds excited.

“What we do is work the crowd to get them involved,” Mary Ann said. “Before a show we make up our own dances to the band’s songs and learn some originals we know the band will play. Once it is show time, we hit the floor. We dance and hang out and the crowd eventually does also. For most bands it is really hard to get the crowd out dancing in the beginning, so we break the ice.”

The girls also work the door, sell merchandise and sometimes even help clean up after the show. Bands sometimes contact them when they are looking for replacement members and the girls also keep their MySpace page, myspace.com/kaylorsisters, updated with booking information. They also spend an hour a day on their MySpace, Twitter and Facebook pages answering questions about the best places to go and best bands to hear in Auburn, and occasionally work with entertainment companies to create a buzz about certain shows.

“Auburn, Ala., has so much musical talent waiting to be heard by people. We are the steps that connects them,” Mary Ann said.
