The wait is over. The 2008 College Football season is finally here! The SEC is stacked from top to bottom, and looks to be the strongest conference yet again. Can the SEC produce the BCS National Champions for the third season in a row? Many questions are out there, and the answers start coming this weekend. Here’s how week one will pan out.

Aug. 28
Vandy at Miami (Ohio)
- The Calculators get a nice win on the road over a decent team.
Prediction: Vandy 21, Miami 10

NC State at South Carolina - A good ACC/SEC clash to start the season. I give Spurrier and the Cocks the edge playing in Columbia.
Prediction: Cocks 24, Wolfpack 14

Aug. 30
Miss State at LA Tech
- Croom takes his dogs on the road to start the season, and comes home with their first win.
Prediction: MSU 24, La Tech 10

Georgia Southern at UGA - The Dawgs give their fans a lot to talk about after this glorified practice. Stafford and Moreno both will have a big day.
Prediction: UGA 38, GA Southern 13

Hawaii at Florida - Tebow shows off, while the Gator defense gives the Warrior offense fits. No June Jones means no more wins for Hawaii.
Prediction: Gators 35, Hawaii 14

Appalachian State at LSU - No upset here. The Tigers take care of business with a brand new QB.
Prediction: LSU 31, App State 17

Memphis at Ole Miss - Nutt gets his first win as a Rebel. QB Jevan Snead leads the way for the Ole Miss.
Prediction: Rebels 27, Memphis 14
Western Illinois at Arkansas - Petrino gets his first win as a piglet.
Prediction: Hogs 38, W. Illinois 9

UAT vs. Clemson (Georgia Dome) -Bama will bring a big excited crowd of Bama fans to the Dome, only to be devastated and taken to the woodshed. Saban and the Tide stumble out of the blocks, which will hopefully shut their mouths. Now they can talk about excuses for the loss, instead of that number one recruiting class.
Prediction: Clemson 31, UAT 17

La-Monroe at Auburn - The Tigers will come out hot on both sides of the ball. Both Todd and Burns share time leading the offense, while the defense plays lights out.
Prediction: Auburn 42, La-Monroe 9

Aug. 31
Kentucky at Louisville
- The Battle on the Bluegrass should be an entertaining day. The Wildcats improved drastically last season, but will have to find a replacement for QB Andre Woodson. This game will be close, but I give the nod to the Cats.
Prediction: Kentucky 24, Louisville 23

Sept. 1
Tennessee at UCLA
- The Vols travel to LA to open the season in what should be a great game. UCLA is rebuilding their team, while the Vols bring an experienced team to this game.  This one should be a close one, but Fulmer will find a way to win.
Prediction:UT 28, UCLA 24
