“Perfectly Clear”

Jewel “Perfectly Clear”
Standouts - “Stronger Woman,” “Two Become One,” “Till It Feels Like Cheating,” “Perfectly Clear”

If you can say nothing else about Jewel’s latest album, “Perfectly Clear,” it’s definitely better than anything she’s released in a while.

The album is full of country/pop songs, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Jewel still has that offbeat style that is sometimes endearing, but the album as a whole is pretty boring.

It does lean more towards country than pop, she even has a southern drawl in some songs, but the deep, intricate lyrics that were so great on her first two albums are still missing. Maybe Jewel should move back into her van and start over again.
