Jessica Simpson “Do You Know”

Jessica Simpson “Do You Know”
Standouts - “Come on Over,” “Remember That,” “You’re My Sunday, “Do You Know”

Jessica Simpson has said that she has finally made the country album that she has always wanted to, and it’s a step up from her last album, which has pretty much been forgotten by even her biggest fans. Simpson takes a more grown up approach on “Do You Know,” and even co-wrote most of the songs. Tunes like “Remember That,” could compete with country artists like Carrie Underwood, but a lot of the album is too slow to be enjoyable. It’s still Simpson’s style, with some banjos and fiddles thrown in, and you are reminded of that with lyrics like “You flew me high just like a kite.” But she does gain some merit from a duet with Dolly Parton. Simpson fans will be satisfied.
