Sergio Webb is an amazingly talented Texas-born, Nashville-based guitarist who played with Pinto Bennett and the Famous Motel Cowboys, Gail Davies, and is currently touring with singer/songwriter David Olney in his live shows.

He’s also released several solo albums and collaborative projects. Recently, he released a collaboration with Jonathan Singleton, Bruce Wallace and Ted Jones titled “Poet, Soldier, Wise Man, King” that is an album embodying the spirit of the Traveling Wilburys, CSNY, or the Highwaymen in that it brings together four musicians from different backgrounds to create a unique and interesting sound. The album practically defines the genre of Americana, with strong melodies, interesting rhythms, and a sincerity that is palpable.

In addition, Webb released a new solo effort last month, entitled “Bolivar Blues.” This album, without a doubt, captures all the emotional fervor of Sergio and his instrument, which he plays with a style and energy that define him as an instrumentalist. Webb is an amazing guitarist, one minute as delicate as a flower, the next rocking like he played with AC/DC. One might hear shades of Bob Dylan, John Prine or Django Reinhardt, and that is what sets Webb apart from the rest: his ability to conjure the spirits of these and other great artists, yet maintain his own well-defined style.

From the delicate and beautiful title track to the rocking “Winnemucca ... Slight Return,” Webb delivers a beautiful and moving album. His live performance, however, is where you will find your jaw on the floor repeatedly. He never ceases to amaze and delight.
