Help grant a wish

Make a child’s wish come true at the Make-A-Wish Foundation‘s 18 Hole Scramble and Silent Auction this Thursday, July 22, at Moore’s Mill Country Club in Auburn.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama grants wishes to children with life threatening illnesses.

“We have about 110 wish children in Alabama, and we’re waiting to fund their wishes,” said John Sweeney of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. “The proceeds from this fundraiser will help fund several of the more than 100 wishes we have waiting to be funded right here in Central Alabama.”

The golf scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. Dinner of heavy hors d’ oeuvres and a silent auction will follow. Some of the auction items include a set of golf clubs, vacation packages and sports memorabilia. Door prizes and golfer awards will also be given away.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $800 for teams of four, $200 for individuals and $30 for dinner only.
