No one embodies the spirit of contemporary blues more than Keb' Mo'. The artist formerly known as Kevin Moore has been awarded three Grammys, nominated for Grammys four additional times, and has received an astounding 10 W.C. Handy Blues Awards over a six-year span.

He is one of those few artists whose sound is so eminently and distinctively recognizable it is truly unique among his peers. Combining elements of rock, pop, jazz and folk, his sound owes as much to contemporary music's singer/songwriters like longtime collaborators and friends Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt as it does to blues icon Robert Johnson.

Keb' Mo's new album, “The Reflection,” is his first studio album since 2006's “Suitcase,” and continues the legacy he's begun with an album that showcases a period of personal and professional growth. In that time, he started a new family, moved from Los Angeles to Nashville, built a state-of-the-art home studio, and founded his own record label, Yolabelle International.

An album two years in the making, “The Reflection” features guest performances by India.Arie, Vince Gill, Dave Koz, Marcus Miller, David T. Walker and Mindi Abair, and owes more to pre-disco R&B artists like Bobby Womack and Bill Withers than it does to John Lee Hooker or Muddy Waters. The album embraces all of Mo's influences including folk, gospel, rock, blues and R&B and blends them as only he could. His astounding cover of the Eagles' classic “One of These Nights” is testament to his inimitable way of interpreting music in his own peerless style.

“The Reflection” is one of the most enjoyably listenable albums I've heard this year, and is truly a reflection of Keb' Mo's unrivaled talent and exceptional musicality.
