All of our favorite shows are about to hit the airwaves again, and The Corner has your guide to stay tuned in with information all of of your old favorites, new shows and more:

ABC

“Grey’s Anatomy”
About the show: A hospital drama that focuses on Meredith Grey, and other young doctors at a Seattle hospital.
Last season: Lots of hook-ups, which included Alex and Izzie, Callie and Erica Hahn and Meredith and Derek.
Season five premieres: Sept. 25
This season: It’s rumored that Katherine Heigl is still staying on and wants her character to have a brain tumor. Also, Cristina gets a love interest and a dead Denny returns.
Think: It becomes more like a soap opera with every season.

“Scrubs”
About the show: The show focuses on John “J.D.” Dorian, played by Zach Braff, and his friends and enemies who all work at Sacred Heart Hospital.
Last season: Dr. Kelso retired and Dr. Cox was named chief of medicine, Kim took J.D.’s baby and moved away.
Season eight premieres: Sept. 25
This season: It is rumored that John Cusack and Jennifer Garner are joining the cast. Either way, season eight will be Zach Braff’s last season. They are saying the show may go on, but it wouldn’t be the same without J.D.
Think: Last season’s finale was disappointing because it was actually episode nine that aired because of the writer’s strike, fans hope for this season to bring back the hilarious show we’re used to.

New shows
“Opportunity Knocks”

About the show: Host J.D. Roth and his mobile team pull up to a suburban home each week with furniture, electronics and other cash prizes that the family can win if they answer questions about each other correctly.
Premieres:  Sept. 23
Think: With Ashton Kutcher as an executive producer, it should be fun.

“Life on Mars”
About the show: The show revolves around a detective who wakes up after a car accident and is back in the year 1973 where he must now work.
Premieres: Oct. 9
Think: Too cheesy to last.

“Gossip Girl”
About the show: Based on a series of novels written for teenagers, the show revolves around a group of wealthy teenagers.
Last season: Blair helped Serena deal with Georgina, Lily planned her wedding to Bart while thinking of Rufus.
Season two premiered: Sept. 1
This season: Love drama between Blair and Chuck, Serena and Dan and more.
Think: Too much drama for us.

“Smallville”
About the show: Superman growing up.
Last season: The season ended with a confrontation between Clark and Lex Luthor under the frozen columns of Clark’s Arctic Fortress of Solitude. Clark finally learned the truth about his past before the fortress crumbled. Lana told Clark that she was leaving Smallville and Lois Lane asked him to apply for a job at the “Daily Planet.”
Season 8 premieres:Sept. 18
This season: Clark Kent moves closer than ever to embracing his calling as the iconic superhero he is destined to become. Spending less time in his hometown and more time in the big city of Metropolis, Clark will encounter new challenges and new faces – both friend and foe – as he begins his career at the Daily Planet. 
Think: Can’t compare to the movies.

New shows
“90210”

About the show: Rich teenager’s drama brought back to life.
Premiered: Sept. 2
Think: Already tanking.

“Valentine”
About the show: Greek Gods help mortals find their soul mates.
Premieres: Sept. 21
Think: So bad it’s scary.

“Privileged”
About the show: A Yale graduate is fired from her journalism job and becomes a tutor to two privileged teenage twins.
Premiered: Sept. 9
Think: You won’t see a second season.

“Easy Money”
About the show: Morgan Buffkin takes over his family’s loan business and has to deal with crazy relatives and a nosy detective.
Premieres:  Sept. 21
Think: The cast includes Laurie Metcalf and Judge Reinhold, so it may be worth watching at least once.

“In Harm’s Way”
About the show: Hour-long reality show that follows dangerous jobs.
Premieres: Sept. 21
Think: If “Survivor” alum Hunter Ellis can carry it, it will probably work.

“Stylista”
About the show: Eleven fashionistas compete for a job at “Elle” magazine by performing tasks.
Premieres: Oct. 29
Think:  Someone will watch it.

“Surviving Suburbia”
About the show: Bob Saget plays the dad to a suburban family who has to deal with crazy new neighbors.
Premieres: Nov. 2
Think: Saget has reinvented himself since “Full House,” so it could work.

“Valentine”
About the show: Greek Gods help mortals find their soul mates.
Premieres: Sept. 21
Think: So bad it’s scary.

“Family Guy”
About the show: Cartoon that evolves around Peter Griffin and his idiotic ideas.
Last season: ‘Star Wars,’ and lots of celebs were referenced.
Season seven premieres: Sept. 28
This season: Cleveland moves to Virginia (setting up his spin-off), Stewie and Brian time travel, another ‘Stars Wars’ parody airs, James Woods returns and (of course) the show offends more celebs.
Think: As hilarious as ever.

“American Idol”
About the show: Contestants sing to compete for the title of “American Idol”
Last season: Rocker David Cook won.
Season 8premieres: January 2009
This season: Begins with more scary auditions and ends with another a new “American Idol.”
Think: People will watch this until Simon retires.

New shows
“Fringe”

About the show: An FBI agent is assigned to investigate the bizarre case of an international flight that landed at Boston’s Logan Airport with a load of passengers and crew members who all have died. They investigate the truth.
Premiered: Sept. 9
Think: Great reviews so far.

“Do Not Disturb”
About the show: Drama that surrounds The Inn, a hip Manhattan hotel.
Premieres: Sept. 10
Think: Starring Jerry O’Connell, it could be funny.

“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”
About the show: A brother and sister and their two friends own a bar and pretty much hate each other.
Last season: The gang found a dumpster baby, were held hostage, thought Mac was a serial killer and more.
Season four premieres: Sept. 18
This season: The guys solve the gas price crises, Frank buys a billboard and someone poops the bed.
Think: The funniest, and most offensive, show on television.

“Rescue Me”
About the show: Denis Leary plays firefighter Tommy Gavin who deals with alcoholism, his crazy ex-wife and saving lives.
Last season: Tommy’s dad passes away, a new firefighter joins the team, Janet dates her younger boss
Season five premieres: March 2009
This season: Not much known, but Michael J. Fox, will play the Janet’s new love interest.
Think: Funny in that weird Dennis Leary way.

“How I Met Your Mother”
About the show: Based around the main character, Ted Mosby, telling his son and daughter about the events that led to meeting their mother.
Last season: Ted adjusted to life with Robin as a friend, Marshall and Lily moved out, Ted hooks up with Stella and Barney has feelings for Robin.
Season four premieres: Sept. 22
This season: Stella responds to Ted’s proposal, Barney realizes he loves Robin and more.
Think: Still enjoyed by a lot of people.

“Cold Case”
About the show: A Philadelphia Police Department division that specializes in investigating cold cases.
Last season: Lilly was shot and learned of her mother’s death and clashed with a narcotics officer.
Season six premieres: Sept. 28
This season: Work on solving deaths of a college football player, inner city school teacher and marine.
Think: By this point has die-hard fans that will stick with it.

New shows
“The Ex List”

About the show: A woman finds out from a psychic that the she has already broken up with the man she’s supposed to marry so she sets out to find him.
Premieres: Oct. 3
Think: Eh.

“Gary Unmarried”
About the show: A man struggles with his new romance and his kids after a divorce.
Premieres: Sept. 24
Think: Boring.

“The Mentalist”
About the show: A former phony psychic becomes a detective.
Premieres: Sept. 23
Think: Could be kinda funny.

“Worst Week”
About the show: An entertainment magazine editor tries to get the parents of his girlfriend to like him.
Premieres:Sept. 22
Think: One of the few comedies,so hopefully it’ll work.

“The Office”

About the show: A “mockumentary” on the everyday life of office employees working at a paper company branch in Scranton, Penn.
Last season: Jim’s proposal to Pam was foiled when Andy proposed to Angela. Then came the Angela and Dwight hooked up.
Season five premieres: Sept. 25
This season: Michael’s gets a new love interest and helps Jan have a baby
Think: Funnier every season.

New shows
“America’s Toughest Jobs”

About the show: A competition reality TV series following thirteen average men and women as they put themselves to the test by taking on tough, demanding jobs.  Contestants are eliminated based on how well the job is performed.  The prize… a combined paycheck of all the tough jobs salaries.
Premiered: Aug. 25
Think: Really? Another reality show?

“Knight Rider”
About the show: “Knight Rider” is the revampment of the classic 1980’s hit show re-introducing the KITT (Knight Industries Three Thousand) car.  The super KITT car is back in crime-fighting action.
Premieres: Sept. 24
Think: This can’t be cool this time around.

“Kath & Kim”
About the show: An American version of the Australian comedy series following the happenings and mishaps of a mother-daughter duo, starring Molly Shannon and Selma Blair while living in suburbia.
Premieres: Oct. 9
Think: Could definitely work.

“SNL Thursday Night”
About the show:A spin-off from Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update segment.  Three live half-hours shows will cover the 2008 presidential election.
Premieres: Oct. 9
Think: If you like “SNL,” you’ll love it.

“My Own Worst Enemy”
About the show: Typical suburban husband and father Henry Spivey (Christian Slater) lives a normal life.  That is until, Edward Albright, his super spy alter ego comes into play causing the two identities to clash.
Premieres: Oct. 13
Think: No one will watch.

“Crusoe”
About the show: Based on the classic novel, a castaway (Philip Winchester) and his native friend (Tongayi Chirisa) struggle to survive on a deserted island.
Premieres: Oct. 17
Think: Could be interesting.

“Entourage”
Season five premiered: Sept. 7
About the show: “Entourage” follows Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier), a rising young Hollywood actor and his entourage, which includes his best friend/manager Eric, his brother Drama and friend Turtle. The show also includes Ari Gold, (Jeremy Piven) Vincent’s high-powered agent who is in a constant battle with Eric over Vincent’s career.
Last season: The guys finished “Medellin” and had it sold at Cannes, until it bombed. Eric attempt to expand his management company.
This season: The guys try to overcome the failure of “Medellin.” Also, a more empathic Dom will return, and Drama will have a hit show, and a meltdown on “The View.”
Think:“Entourage” is a fun ride, but not really a must-see.

New shows
“True Blood”
Premiered: Sept. 7
About the show: The show details the co-existence of vampires and humans in a fictional Louisiana town. It also follows Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress at a diner, who falls in love with a vampire.
Think: Vampires are big right now, so it could work.

“The Life & Times of Tim”
Premieres: Sept. 28
About the show: An animated comedy series about a man in his mid 20s in New York City with his girlfriend who constantly finds himself in increasingly awkward situations.
Think: This actually looks really funny.

Showtime
“Dexter” Season three premieres: Sept. 28
About the show: Dexter, played by Michael C. Hall (“Six Feet Under”), is a Miami-based serial killer who works for the Miami Metro Police Department as a blood spatter analyst. Some view dexter as a hero because he only kills other killers. The show centers around Dexter, his sister and co-worker Debra, his girlfriend Rita and her two children, and the rest of the Miami Police Department.
Last season: Debra gets involved with Special Agent Lundy. Lila causes an explosion at the Cabin where Dexter imprisoned Doakes, blowing up both Doakes and the corpse of one of Dexter’s victims, saving Dexter from discovery. Dexter believes this combined with the fact that Harry knew himself to be wrong about the code gives Dexter the right to rewrite that code and to live his life the way he wishes
This season: Dexter is starting fresh, with no one suspectful of him. Jimmy Smits will join the cast to play Miguel Pradoan, an assistant district attorney who will work with Dexter to pursue a murderer who has affected both of their lives. Debra will finally find a healthy relationship.
Think: Showtime’s best original series that always leaves you wanting more. Hall’s creepiness will stay with you.
