The Drive-By Truckers are nothing if not consistent. On their loudest and most raucous album to date, the Dirty South rockers continue by picking up where 2008’s “Brighter than Creations Dark” left off. “The Big To-Do” details the lives of imperfect people living and coping in the real world without attempting to legitimize anything. Most of the songs on the album were written by frontman, Patterson Hood, but the few contributed by the other members are among the best on the album. While not necessarily their strongest album, there are many instant Trucker classics here.
