For a band that has had as much personal drama as Depeche Mode, making 12 studio albums in a career that spans four decades seems to be quite the feat. “Sounds of the Universe,” is the follow-up to 2005’s successful “Playing the Angel.” Produced by Ben Hillier, the album has a stadium sound with every electronic pulse of youthful vigor that you’d expect from a Depeche Mode album. Singer David Gahan also has three tunes on the album.
