The newest bar in Auburn is up and running—and dancing.

Boot Knockers, recently opened on South College inside the Lexington Hotel, is one of a kind in the Auburn area.

“It's not a bar, it's an experience,” said Bama Jones, co-owner. “We want you to come in here and just be entertained from the time you get here to the time you leave-just have fun."

From the matching cowhide prints, lingering hay bails and cowboy boots to a stage built for dancers instead of bands, Boot Knockers is sure to give you something fresh.

"I wanted a 'Coyote Ugly'-style bar since there's not one around here, and I ran one in Charleston, South Carolina,” Jones said.

Jones has been a choreographer for eight years and dancing since she was 6 years old, talents that she has put to good use at Boot Knockers.

During a typical night at Boot Knockers, the regular bar-goer is treated to an irregular night out.

If it’s been taking too long for you to finish that beer, a bartender may come up and make you chug it, or put it in a baby bottle. And if you’re being too much of a wallflower, you might get an impromptu line dancing lesson.

Even the nightly specials are unorthodox, including Monday night extreme trivia, which requires a signed liability waiver from participants.

Tuesday is “Wild West Night” with line dancing and free pool, Wednesday is beer pong tournaments with $1 beer and $2 house drinks, Thursday is ladies’ night with karaoke and the weekends are “us dancing all night long,” Jones said.
