The Crepe Myrtle Café at Blooming Colors nursery offers Auburn more than soup and sandwiches. As its name would imply the café specializes in crepes.
“We mainly serve crepes,” manager Katy O’Bryan-Flannery said. “We do vegetable crepes, steak and chicken crepes.”
Some of the cafés specialties include the Caesar chicken, Tomato Lover and Steak and Bleu crepes. For those who enjoy more ordinary café faire, Crepe Myrtle Café also serves paninis, soup and sides that include side salads and potato salad. All the ingredients are fresh and organic and come straight from the The Market at Blooming Colors.
“It coexists the with the market,” O'Bryan-Flannery said. “We cook what we sell, which is what a lot of people are looking for these - days-fresh not processed.”
The café also serves breakfast at 5:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at 8 a.m. on Sunday. The breakfast menu includes breakfast crepes, fresh pastries and Café Du Monde coffee.
Even though it’s only been open since November, the café attracts many visitors. College students come to use the free wireless Internet and adults come to enjoy the organic dishes.
“It has something for everybody,” explained O’Bryan-Flannery.
The Crepe Myrtle Café is located at 1192 S. Donahue Dr. in Auburn. For more information visit
