Stevie Monce will perform at SkyBar and Eighth & Rail this week.
Stevie Monce and his band hang their hats in Atlanta, Ga., but that doesn’t mean you’ll find them there. The spiky-haired, cherubic singer-songwriter spends a considerable amount of time out on the road, trekking around the Southeastern music circuit, playing more than 450 shows in the last two years. And he shows no signs of stopping.
Monce has been playing and writing songs for years now, but began to seriously focus on his music in 2007 after putting in the blood, sweat and tears in Atlanta bars and small venues. Since then, Monce has remained focused on creating a live show of powerful, heartfelt tunes.
Like many up-and-comers, Monce loves to show off his original material at his solo shows, but also has a firm grasp on some classics and fan favorites, which he pulls out at special shows and events. He and the band have also shared the stage with many other great Southern artists, such as Zac Brown, Grace Potter, Marc Brousard and Shawn Mullins.
In 2009 Monce and the band recorded a 10-track collection of songs for their debut release, “The Broadcast.” The album featured a handful of tunes that climbed their way to the top of numerous regional and online radio best-of lists.
Stevie Monce will be playing SkyBar on Friday, Sept. 2, and Eighth & Rail in Opelika on Saturday, Sept. 3. Stop by
