The Alabama Blues Brothers will perform at “BBQ & Blues” at the Event Center Downtown in Opelika on Friday, June 17.
Those riotous blues men Jake and Ellwood Blues are screeching in to Auburn this week – and they’re on a mission from God…
Okay, so they may not be the original Jake and Ellwood Blues, but the resemblances are hard to mistake. The two real-life Alabama Blues Brothers are, in fact, literal siblings Jamey and Justin Crisler of Town Creek, Ala., just outside of Muscle Shoals. As a duo the brothers have been putting smiles on fans faces for more than 10 years now. Chances are that if you have been to one of the many festivals or minor league baseball games in the state, you might have run into the Alabama Blues Brothers before.
During the group’s live shows the two brothers pull out all of the stops, including matching suits and shades, a beat-up old cop car and a seven piece band, that ranges from horns to guitars – who often perform in prison jump suits. The brothers even have dance routines to coincide with the upbeat jazz/blues tunes. The Alabama Blues Brothers will be performing at Opelika’s Event Center Downtown’s “BBQ & Blues” event on Friday, June 17. Tickets will be $25 in advance of the show or $30 at the door, which includes a catered meal from Byron’s Smokehouse BBQ. The doors open at 6 p.m., with the Alabama Blues Brothers coming on around 7:30.
