Mandy Moore “Amanda Leigh”
Standouts - “Fern Dell,” “Pocket Philosopher,” “Bug”

Mandy Moore’s new album is a little surprising, mostly because I enjoyed a good part of it. More surprising was her attention to creating a good album, instead of just one or two songs that blow up the charts with her ultra-pop tunes. Yes, “I Could Break Your Heart Any Day of the Week” and “Nothing Everything” are almost at that point, but the rest of the album is more folk centered. In a very good way, “Amanda Leigh” is not the expected Mandy Moore album, and worth a $10 investment.
