Wanda Jackson’s latest album, “The Party Ain’t Over” is her best album yet.

She's called "The First Lady of Rockabilly," and "The Queen of Rock." She was once Elvis Presley's girlfriend. She was honored with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” at last year's Americana Music Awards, and now Wanda Jackson has released a new album "The Party Ain't Over," with White Stripes founder Jack White producing.

It's an appropriate title, as this septugenerian still has what it takes to keep the party going. The album opens with a rollicking version of the Johnny Kidd classic made famous by The Who, "Shakin' All Over," and never lets up. The band, assembled by White, features Carl Broemel of My Morning Jacket, Jack Lawrence of the Raconteurs, and others from the White camp including White himself lending his guitar prowess to the music. And what a set list! Songs from Bob Dylan, Amy Winehouse, Sammy Cahn, Jimmie Rodgers alongside rockabilly classics like "Rip It Up," "Rum and Coca-Cola," "Busted," and "Dust On The Bible" make this an album to remember.

Jackson's vocals are as strong as they've ever been, her munchkin-like growl punctuating song after song. "The Party Ain't Over" is all about stepping out, not summing up, this legendary performer's career, while at the same time celebrating moments of her life.

"Like a Baby" revives an old bluesy tune from Elvis, and Jimmie Rodgers' "Blue Yodel #6," which closes the album, is ironically the first song she ever learned as a child. Arguably the best album she's ever done, there is no doubt the party ain't over for Wanda Jackson.
