Juliette Lewis “Terra Incognita”
Standouts - “Noche Sin Fin,” “Hard Lovin’ Woman,” “Uh Huh”

Juliette Lewis launches her post-Licks career with her newest group, the New Romantiques. As a singer better known for her acting, Lewis can be held to a different standard, but “Terra Incognita” is a wonderful album by any measure. However - and this may be a bonus to some - producer Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, of Mars Volta fame, brings a heavy-handed presence to the album, leaving it sounding eerily similar to his own material at moments. Fun and dirty like her other albums, “Terra Incognita” is definitely worth checking out.
