“Lullaby”

Jewel “Lullaby”
Standouts - “Raven,” “The Cowboy’s Lament,” “Angels Standing By”

Jewel’s newest album, “Lullaby,” is properly titled. The 15 tracks, which Jewel has described as a collection of lullabies “not just for children, but also adults,” is boring enough to put anyone to sleep. From actual lullabies like “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star,” and a random German lullaby, “Sov Gott (Sleep Well),” to her own sleepy songs, this album is more reminiscent of Jewels folky days, but not nearly as interesting. Even her remake of “Angels Standing By” from her first album is more boring than the original. Although this is a step up from Jewel’s pop album, any other album is better.
