Collective Soul has always been a strong album group, and their second self-titled album is no exception. After making a fairly successful comeback sometime around 2004’s “Youth,” the group has been rooting around, attempting to match the glory they found with their early material, while not coming across as aging grunge leftovers. And since escaping Atlantic Records, they’ve come closer than most. Their recent release is arguably not their strongest, but it’s pretty close.
