Standouts - "Shone," "Right Round," "Sugar," "R.O.O.T.S."

Flo Rida's sophomore CD "R.O.O.T.S," an acronym for Route of Overcoming the Struggle, comes off as if he’s trying to prove he’s not a one hit wonder. While he takes some risks creatively, and pulls them off for the most part, the CD plays like a collection of random songs rather than a cohesive album. Aside from the creative risks, which include sampling Dead Or Alive’s "You Spin Me Round" for the lead single "Right Round," and Eiffel 65's "I’m Blue" for the CD's second single "Sugar," the album is a letdown of sorts. But If you're looking for a true party CD, one that’ll make you wanna get up and dance, R.O.O.T.S. is the perfect choice.
