“Baby Borrowers.” “Pam: Girl on the Loose.” “Brooke Hogan Knows Best.” “Celebrity Circus.”

Summer brings a variety of new shows to the networks. But are these new shows worth anything? For the most part, the new shows are reality television programs and the shows give the stars their fifteen minutes of fame says Mary Margaret Boswell, a senior in fashion merchandising.

And who knew these would be titles of the summer sequence. Guilty pleasures or stupid shows, you take your pick, but it is sickening to watch celebrities on shows only to gain a following and/or publicity.

Many are eagerly awaiting the start of the new fall season shows. Something with substance. Perhaps a show with a plot or what’s been missing…a storyline.

But how real are these reality series? And how many people really watch the programs?

“It has been blown way out of proportion,” Bailey Debardeleben, a sophomore, said. “And most of what is seen on the show has been embellished by producers.”

She doesn’t watch it because she thinks it is fake and doesn’t agree with endorsing it.

Jessica Scott a sophomore in pre-nursing says she doesn’t have an opinion, because she isn’t into the reality scene and says she doesn’t think it is realistic at all.

She had to admit she watches one show, “The Hills.”

I know I can’t wait for the fall line-up.
