Loca luna
Whitney West The Corner News published July 14, 2008 Tans, beaches, parties and fun. Summertime has been in full swing, and has now reached its midpoint. July is one of the most popular summer months to vacation. Now is the time to get yourself up and take a much needed vacation. If gas prices are getting you down, consider a short trip. If Atlanta is your destination of choice, one hot spot to hit is the restaurant/dance club Loca Luna. Located in the north side of the Atlanta Midtown area, Loca Luna has become a favorite spot for locals and travelers alike. The restaurant has a spacious inside, including a large main dining room, bar and lounge area and a stage with plenty of room to dance. The outside patio is breezy, not far from the excitement and has a spectacular view of the Atlanta skyline. Loca Luna offers a range of tapas, which are small Spanish dishes. Some of the more popular tapas are the grilled chicken skewers and the macaroni and cheese, which has a little extra spice added in to contribute to the overall Latin-theme. Concepts for all the tapas and other items on the menu are based from Spanish, Caribbean and South American cuisine. The best part about Loca Luna’s menu is the prices. For as little as $3, you can fill your belly with some amazing dishes. Eating great and saving money for those always rising gas prices makes Loca Luna the place to be. While waiting for you order or a place to sit, Loca Luna also has Latin bands play to get you in the mood for some fun. Bands play all week and encourage customers to get off their feet and dance. However, that is never a problem since the music focuses on Salsa, Samba and Merengue. Contributing to the downside of the restaurant, its no wonder people leave their seats and food to show off some smooth dance skills for a couple of sets. The next time you don’t know what to do or where to go on a Saturday night, think about taking a trip to Loca Luna. It won’t disappoint you. However, make sure you call in a reservation because the wait can get a little grueling. To learn a little more about the tapas, upcoming events and drinks they offer, visit http://www.loca-luna.com. Now go get your salsa on!
