"Justin Shape" personal training is owned and operated locally by Justin Shroyer. A native of Orlando, Florida, Shroyer is an experienced personal trainer with years under his belt. Shroyer operates on a home-visit basis, training clients with free weights, medicine balls, and other equipment from the comfort of their own homes. Shroyer says that clients find it more difficult to cancel session when you "are ringing their doorbell and they are inside." He also has found, after years of experience, that it is easier for people to deal with a monthly payment plan also. This plan is convenient because clients pay up front and have flexibility in scheduling their allotted number of monthly sessions, and canceled sessions can simply be carried over to the next month.
Shroyer also is the "preferred trainer" for Creekside Condominiums, and offers personal training in their gym. He leads a boot camp style workout program called "Codename Boot Camp." The program is 5 days a week for a month, involving outdoor activities like running and lifting weights.
Shroyer, a doctoral student in biomechanics, also led the research team in the recent study on the effects of wearing flip-flops. Shroyer was featured on programs such as Good Morning America to report his findings and an article was featured on the Auburn University Homepage as part of Wire Eagle. The research team found that wearing flip-flops can alter a person's gait and alter the body's kinetic chain. Shroyer says his research does not suggest, however, that people should never wear flip-flops. However, like athletic shoes, they should be replaced every three months and only worn for short periods of time.
