If you’re searching to plan a romantic dinner for you and your Valentine, then look no further. This Valentine’s Day, there is a weekend full of events to celebrate with that special someone at Ariccia Italian Trattoria and Bar and Piccolo.
The chefs have created a special Valentine’s Day menu for a prix fixe dinner. Menu items have been inspired from meals often served in Verona, Italy, most commonly known as the home of Shakespeare’s famous lovers, Romeo and Juliet. The special menu also includes a “Verona in Love” chocolate bar for dessert. The dinner costs $39 for two and will be served from 5-10 p.m. from Feb. 11-14.
“Ariccia is a great, relaxed atmosphere to have an intimate dinner with your partner,” said Executive Chef Andy Litherland.
If guests want to dine at Ariccia but don’t want to have the three-course dinner, the a la carte menu will be available to order from. Guests can order just the chocolate bar for $12.95. Litherland said there is no place in town with a chocolate bar like Ariccia.
For those who want to start celebrating early, Ariccia will be serving a Valentine’s Day brunch on Sunday, Feb. 13, from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The special brunch menu features an oyster bar with different topping choices, a chocolate bar and other love-themed foods accompanied by live jazz music.
Ariccia specializes in fresh, rustic Italian cuisine. Their menu features homemade pastas, hearth-baked pizzas, grill-fired fish and steaks. Ariccia serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and is located at the Hotel at Auburn University.
Ariccia is not the only place at the Hotel at Auburn University celebrating the Valentine’s Day weekend. On Friday and Saturday, Piccolo will have live jazz music and complimentary chocolate covered strawberries with the purchase of Piccolo champagne.
From Feb. 11-14, Piccolo will feature sweets not normally found on the menu. Guests can choose from a chocolate soufflé with warm raspberry sauce, a raspberry mascarpone mousse with passion fruit sauce or a hazelnut chocolate baked Alaska.
“These romantic deserts for two are great for you and your loved one,” said Litherland.
Piccolo is located right next to Ariccia. The jazz-infused longue specializes in small plates, desserts and cocktails.
