For four football seasons, he has been in the Tiger Walk, played on Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium, and sported the #5 jersey.
These days, Tommy Trott has traded his jersey for just a plain Auburn shirt on game days. He is no longer a part of the Tiger Walk, nor does he storm Pat Dye Field. But, he has found a way to be a part of the team when Saturday rolls around.
As Trott finishes up his last semester on the plains, he is also interning for the athletic department. He takes donors on tours not only on game day, but also during the week.
"It's fun to meet the people who donate to Auburn," said Trott. "A lot of the time it's those kind of people who help to keep Auburn ticking."
As far as tailgating is concerned, he hasn't done much of it.
"I tailgated for the first time since high school last Saturday when we played Clemson," he said. "I had forgotten how fun it can be to just hang out with my friends and not have the pressure of the game in the back of my mind."
But, this Saturday it's back to work. You won't see Trott tailgating before Auburn plays the South Caroline Gamecocks.
"I'll be taking people on tours and working."
But that's ok with him. Trott says as great as it was to tailgate last Saturday, he feels at home while staying close to the athletic department.
"That place has been my home for the last five years and the people there have become my family," he said.
Trott does plan on tailgating some more before this football season ends, and is even traveling to Tuscaloosa next weekend to watch the match up between Alabama and Florida. But, Auburn remains his number one.
"My heart will always be in Auburn no matter where I go," he said. "I'm just glad I can give back to the people who have given so much to me."
But, right now his number one priority is earning his Master's and graduating this December.
"As fun as my Saturday's are and as different as they have become over the past few weeks, I'm at Auburn to earn an education and in the end, I will be leaving with not only that, but so much more."
