So in an effort to share in my disbelief and sometime frustration I'm gonna share just a few of the wonderful things that I experienced last week. So in an effort to share in my disbelief and sometime frustration I'm gonna share just a few of the wonderful things that I experienced last week. If you can't drive, DON'T! So I'm sitting in the turning lane at Ross and Opelika the other day behind a car and the light turns green and they don't move (which is cool), but the few cars on the other side pass and they're sitting there. The light turns yellow and they still don't move. So I'm like ok they just weren't paying attention, no prob. Well again the light turns green, the cars pass and they're still sitting there (I'm on my horn now, gently) and again yellow light they don't move. So I'm like WTF? On the horn again (not so gentle now) and then I decide to go around and get up on the side of them since no one is in the thru traffic lane. Anyway, the woman is looking at me like what are you doing. So green light, I proceed to go in front of the idiot (sorry, the other driver) and proceed to turn immediately (since no one else is coming) and they're still sitting there!!! Just so you know the car was running, nothing was wrong, they were just sitting there. Not sure why but if you can't or are afraid to drive DON'T!!!!! And no I don't have road rage, but sitting through a light three or four or however many times they sat there after I went around them isn't the way I want to spend that time. Ok WOOOOSAHHHH... I'm just saying, why are you sitting there? Anyways so here's a pet peeve of mine. If I'm out and I take a picture of you and I move on to someone else please, please, please don't jump your a$$ in their picture. Trust me, not only am I going to delete that picture (and retake it) but I'm gonna delete the picture of you also. Just an FYI, being in multiple pictures doesn't up your chances or guarantee that you're gonna be in the paper. If anything it annoys the hell out of me (Just look at my face once I've taken the pic). And trust me I have more than ample pictures to ensure that I don't have to use one that you've jumped in. So please don't mess up someone else's picture by jumping in it after I've already taken a picture of you. And while I'm on the taking picture subject. If your friend grabs you and say hey let's take a picture for The Corner and you see me with a big a$$ camera in my hand and a shirt with "CORNERED" on it and I'm handing you a card that says 'You've Been Cornered' on it, don't the turn around and ask "what is this for?" Are you serious? I'm just saying, your friend said it, I have on a shirt that says it and I've just handed you a card and you still don't know... you might wanna put down that drink. WOOOOSAHHHH... Moving on. I love the snow just as much as the next person. Especially since we don't often see it in the south. And to have snow two years in a row... I didn't know how to act. And apparently neither did the idiot that threw the snowball at my car as I'm pulling off from the red light on Thatch and Ross (I'm might need to stay of Ross). Did you really think after you hit my windshield I wasn't gonna turn around and come find you? (Again I don't have road rage, but that was dumb as hell.) What if you'd cracked my windshield or broke it even? I'm just saying, use your brain. I got to give you credit though, it was an excellent throw and you timed it just right. But that look on your face when you say me bust that u-ey and get out of my car was priceless. (At least for me it was ) I mean seriously, if you have the gall to throw the snowball in the first place don't try and run and hide when I come back. I'm just saying... my momma told me to never throw a rock and hide my hand. Yeah I know I'm just ranting on and on but com'on son. WOOOOSAHHHH... So here's another pet peeve of mine and it goes out to everyone with an unruly a$$ dog. If you can't control your animal, or you know that it doesn't 'play well with others,' don't bring it out where you know there's gonna be a lot of people and other animals. And please don't get upset or take offense when another dog owner says something about your dog or it gets handled by another dog. Anyways, as I'm coming across the bridge and up the hill pass the Tallapoosa River some idiot waits till I get about 30 yards from him and he decides that he wants to cross 280. WTH? The kicker is that he wasn't trying to doing do it quickly. he He strolled his ass out there like he was taking a Sunday afternoon walk. Despite me riding my horn and visibly showing my displeasure with is decision to try cross then. To make matters worst worse, the wonderful driving driver speeding up on the side of me, doing 'bout 85 or so, swerve swerved to avoid the idiot who was crossing 280 and damn near took me out. Glad he was riding his horn as well otherwise I wouldn't have been alerted to swerve to the right to avoid being hit. Now other than that the drive home was rather pleasant. Well except for the idiot (with a Tallapoosa County tag - 62) that stopped at the freakin green light at the bottom of the hill(mountain) right before you get to Greystone. Again, WTH? At least by that time I was laughing at something on Foxxhole. (Jamie Foxx's channel on Sirius) Now the drive back to Auburn was rather uneventful, except the cop headed west right outside of Chelsea flashing his lights(and making me curse) in an effort to get me and the car next to me to slow down. (We were only doing 65, which is what the speed limit was about 100 yards up the road). Besides that it was nice and peaceful. My deer sighting count got up to seven, with numbers five and six being a little too close to the side of the road for me. All I know is that if I were a hunter I'd camp out between Dadeville and Auburn, because that's where I saw five of the seven deer.
