Last year “PC World” wrote an article on the “15 Best Places to Waste Time on the Web.“ Most of their picks like YouTube and IMDB weren’t new to savvy, semi-professional procrastinators such as myself, but there was a gem in the group: Fark.com. It’s as gut-bustingly “The Onion,“ but with real news. According to their website, “Fark is what fills space when mass media runs out of news. Fark is supposed to look like news… but it’s not news. It’s Fark.“ Most of the stories are pulled directly from the pages of reputable newspapers (i.e. the “Atlanta Journal-Constitution”), but some content comes from more sensationalized sources (i.e. “The New York Post”). Where ever it comes from, it’s guaranteed to be amusing, interesting or even shocking. If you’re really in need of a laugh, check out their video page. It will save you from sifting through the tons of baby’s-first-steps and emo-confessionals on YouTube. Check it out: http://www.fark.com
