Sorry ladies (and gentlemen) it looks like George Clooney is ready to settle down and finally get married.
The notorious ladies man has been engaged to Amal Alamuddin since April, and all signs are pointing towards a walk down the aisle. The couple has recently obtained a marriage license in London, and appear to be choosing Italy as their wedding location. Clooney confirmed this in a interview with Variety were he simply said, “I'm marrying up.”
Clooney- who has been a perpetual bachelor since the early 90's-surprised the world when he started dating the 36-year-old Oxford-educated lawyer. Clooney's usual matches consisted of supermodels, WWE Divas, and foreign reality show personalities. Being involved with a woman who was smart, independent, and older than 30 wasn't seen as being in George Clooney's wheelhouse.
Something must be different with Amal, however, because the twice-awarded “Sexist Man Alive” was smitten with her from the start. Amal has been seen showing off her 7 carat diamond engagement ring. A ring that the former "ER" hunk helped designed himself. A man doesn't design a ring unless he really likes a girl. Amal has tamed the Oscar winning actor like a Bronco. The wild, sexy, silver-haired Bronco that he is.
The two appear to have much more in common than Clooney's previous girl-friends. They both have become extremely active in supporting human rights. Maybe Clooney was waiting until he found a woman that could match his level of self-righteousness. It's important for couples to have something common.
Clooney recently attacked the Daily Mail over a false report that the mother of Clooney's fiance objected to their upcoming marriage. The website deleted the article and apologized to Clooney, but he rejected the apology and proceeded to bash the website. Clooney admitted it was “fun to slap those bad guys” and “knock em around.”
It says a great deal that the "Gravity" actor has gotten so worked up over a story found in the Daily Mail. If he's letting a gossip website get under his skin he must really like Amal.
So, who will be Ole George's best man? Hollywoodlife.com reported that Brad Pitt will do the honors. That makes perfect sense. The two have been friends for a while, and it's not like Clooney will allow any ugly person to stand next to him on the alter.
